Overview:
In Hongkuang, China, a mining disaster uncovers metallic debris and an alien life form, triggering a classified investigation by the secretive Bureau 749. The sole survivor dies, and his pregnant wife suffers complications. Eighteen years later, a mysterious white mist envelops the city. Ma Shan, the miner’s son, is hunted by the Bureau. Raised among other children with special powers, he had escaped and was living with his uncle and aunt. Forced back to the Bureau, he learns they want him as a test subject in dangerous experiments to contain the alien threat poised to erupt from underground. Telepathically connected to the life forms, Ma Shan faces a harrowing choice: embrace his humanity or join the alien force in their mission to annihilate mankind.
